Study Day-Sexism in Arabic School Books

Al-Tufula Center held a study day to present the research on Sexism in Arabic School Books.  The study day was held in Nazareth on the 29th of December 2008.

During the day, the research methods, findings and summary were presented by the two researches.  This was followed by presentations from the Ministry of Education on the research itself.  The two representatives also shared what is been done at the Ministry of Education and a list of recommendations was made to follow up.  The aim of the day was to raise the awareness of the community to the sexism that exists in our children's school books.  To advocate for positive change towards equality on the behalf of Writters, Illustrators and the Ministry of Education.

The participants of the day included educators, researchers, supervisors, writters, organisations and the media.  The study day received covered in the media and publications in newspapers.  For more details about the day, please email: info@altufula.org
